Fine, balanced and pleasant syrah not trying to power through with bigness but rather saying more with subtle notes of pepper, leather, dark fruits. Gorgeous with wagyu.

Lillian Grenache 2016

Producer:
Lillian Grenache 2016
Grape:
Grenache
Alcohol:
14.7%

We began working with a single acre of grenache on an undulating slope of Bien Nacido Vineyard in 2015. Last year, the resultant wine found it's highest form as a four percent addition to the 2015 Lillian syrah, the varieties finding their highest synergy and vibrancy as one. This year, the grenache demanded to be bottled alone. With all of the wines, from all varieties, we belive the highest achievemnet, the clearest marker of beauty is when the wine holds both intensity and levity in the same form. This w ine, of all we've ever made, may have gotten highest, done this best.

Favia Cerro Sur 2018

Producer:
Favia Cerro Sur 2019
Grape:
Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon
Alcohol:
14.8%
Rating:
IS 94, RP 93,

The Cerro Sur is utterly fascinating in this vintage. Composed of 69% Cabernet Franc and 31% Cabernet Sauvignon which was sourced from 40-year-old deep rooted vines located high in the mountains east of Coombsville. This instantly begins to impress as it bursts open with gorgeous aromatics of ripe black cherries and blackberries which are joined by tobacco, charcoal, minerals, graphite, licorice and fresh spring flowers. On the palate this possesses a gorgeous medium body that is impeccably structured with velvety, polished tannins that result in a wonderful finessed mouthfeel. This goes on to impress with its outstanding balance of beautifully pure rip fruit and gorgeous acidity, which give the wine incredible freshness and energy. It displays remarkable overall precision and focus leading up to the mouth-watering finish. This is an exceptional wine from Andy Erickson that is absolutely beautiful today but should also have a brilliant future ahead.

Favia Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Producer:
Favia Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Grape:
Cabernet Sauvignon
Alcohol:
14.5%

The 2019 offering of this noble variety is deeply colored, with a black-purple hue and remarkable opacity. The aromas are highly perfumed, with an intense, dark profile. The typical black fruits are there but layered under a blanket of umami notes—morels, roasted meat, exotic wood and dark chocolate. The weight is massive, but with amazing balance and grace. The wine has a velvety texture, with cocoa powder tannins and an expansive, lengthy finish. Even with such polish, the wine is well structured and dense, and will certainly age for many years to come.

Favia Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville 2018

Producer:
Favia Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville 2018
Grape:
Cabernet Sauvignon
Alcohol:
14.8%
Rating:
JS 98,

The Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is a slightly broader, more expansive wine with textbook notes of crème de cassis, tobacco leaf, Asian spices, loamy soil, camphor, and chocolate. Offering full-bodied richness, a beautiful weightlessness on the palate, and building tannins, this is another gorgeous, seamless, singular wine from this estate that will benefit from short-term cellaring and evolve for 20-25 years or more.
