The Shiraz has a wonderful Crimson colour with a nose of dark berries with chocolatey earth aromas. The palate has a perfectly balanced and spicy fruit symphony matched with soft, silky supple tannis. A pleasingly long, lingering finish.

The Pink Moscato has a vivid rose pink colour with A nose of freshly harvested strawberries. The palate has hints of cherry, with flavours of strawberry and finishing with light spritz.

Lovely spice notes in the bouquet, clove, pepper, cedary notes, old leather, tobacco, then dark fruits, anise, plums. Lots going on between brooding fruit and savoriness. Tight tannins and crisp acidity keep the wine in check. It’s juicy, but crunchy-textured, very long in flavor, spicy, moody with blue and black berry fruit feel. It’s got a lot more structure than previous incarnations.

A suppleness up front in the palate, that soothing swish of dark fruit, cool acidity, then light peppery spice weaves its way in and there’s the detail… earth, mineral, elemental things, and a shuffle of ultra-fine, high class threads of velour tannin.

Perfume is all pot pourri, dried cranberry, black olive, old spice cupboard and smoky paprika. Flavours similar, tannin chewy, grippy, well done. Grunty in a way, complex as all get out. An assertive expression, bolder than some years in its intensity and drive, but not without the hallmarks of great Sami Odi wines.

Typically it shows a pink grapefruit character, concentration and mid-palate texture, which reflect the carefully selected sites and hand harvesting during the small window of perfect ripeness. 2018 was a standout year. The growing season weather behaved well overall, giving us well-balanced acidity and good flavour development in the pink grapefruit, lavender spectrum.

Aiming for elegance, restraint and the ability to age, acid is bright and there’s generosity of flavour. Typically it shows white flowers, citrus, and nectarine notes. The 2016 vintage had even ripening conditions, and our elevated sites gave us flavoursome, precise Chardonnay.
