HOWARD'S FOLLYPortugalHoward´s Folly is a small producer of wine from the Alentejo region of Portugal. The winemaker, David Baverstock, is an Australian by nationality but long time Portuguese resident who is credited with revolutionising the Portuguese wine industry by introducing new world techniques to old world material. Deep, dark red colour, almost opaque. Spicy, red berry fruit aromatics of raspberry and redcurrants, with some complex earth and gamey notes. Solid palate which is both silky and firmly structured, with good balancing acidity. Layers of spicy, juicy fruit fill out the palate, giving body and elegance.
