This wine is the result of blending Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot in equal parts. Its ruby red colour is vivid and intense. Pleasant to the nose and well-ballanced, it radiates a perfume of small red fruits and crushed rose petals. Upon the palate, red-ripe fruits and sweet spices, balsamic hints and a sugared coffee retro-taste combine perfectly with the delicate, fine tannins. Of sound structure and complexity, it is also a wine of long and soft persistence.

The Romito del Romitorio is a complex wine with a dark core and brilliant ruby edge. Elegant aromas of dried rose petal, ripe red fruit and balsamic oak notes open over a backdrop of medium intense spices. The distinct and well-balanced earth notes represent a layered expression of the Montalcino terroira.Silky and quite velvety attack, chocolate and tar characters finish on dried fruit, juniper berry, and ripe red fruit, spices. Round full tannins, solid acidity, and a long spicy finish.

Dark raspberry fruits and just a hint of saddle on the nose. On the palate strong earthy (that typically appears in the wine blended Sangiovese) and savoury tones including sweet redcurrants and raspberry fruits combine nicely with mouth drying dusty tannins. As the components of the wine take shape, a synergy of flavors and textures is released that beautifully complements most savoury foods. Balanced and soft this wine retains a distinct taste of tradition.

It possesses a deep ruby red color, and a soft richness that balances its fresh bouquet. It spends its first year maturing in oak, lending it some complexity for further aging. Once bottled it will comfortably mature over the next three to five years, growing still finer and more elegant.

There is something heady and invigorating about this: a lifted nose of oak and fruit with notions of Marasca cherry, violet and pomegranate. Earthy hints appear, too, as do nuances of sage and soy with increasing age. The body has densely woven, firm but fine tannins, according the wine a great structure; a skeleton upon which fruit, oak and aroma can express themselves fully. The wine unfolds slowly in the glass, becomes more sinuous and sensuous with air while the gentle astringency of the tannins is very moreish. Bottle age brings welcome tertiary notes of leather and herb, both grip and aroma are long lasting. This is impressive upon release but even more true to itself with advancing age.

It is ruby red with orange tinges and speaks of red berries with saline undertones which then turn to the scent of roses and crushed violets becoming impressive on the nose. The taste is dynamic and extremely pleasant. It is a full bodied wine embracing warm, soft tones and elegant, ultra fine tannins that build on the palate with a cool, sleek texture and style. The progression of its taste is astounding and has a long and powerful finish.

Historically one of the vineyards used for its acidity and productivity, the Carricante variety is probably one of the most interesting multi-faceted varieties. Mineral and sulfur notes, hints of hydrocarbons, even in the younger vintages. It’s the expression of the vertical elements of the wines of the Volcano. A wine that reflects the nature of the territory it comes from, the Etna Volcano.

It reveals notes of ripe cassis, bigarreau cherry and small notes of plum associated with fine touches of red fruits as well as a hint of pepper and a discreet hint of olivier. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a juicy frame, a good definition, gourmandize, fat as well as an acidulous frame.
